In my daily toil using Microsoft <strike>Turd<\/strike> Word, Excel or just working in code-view all day, I forget about the power of typographic design. In my college days, I remember not being very fond (understatement of the year) of having to trace serif and non-serif faces by hand. How delightful, though, to know that all that work was worthwhile; I&#8217;m often unaware of the satisfaction I get from experiencing good typography. I take for granted the slickly designed world that surrounds me: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/\" title=\"Wried.com\">Wired Magazine<\/a> (print edition) and it&#8217;s creative use of type, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.5gum.com\/five\/index.do\" title=\"5 gum\">&#8220;5&#8221; gum <\/a>packaging and it&#8217;s slick packaging, any <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/\" title=\"Apple.com\">Apple <\/a>product that comes so beautifully &#8216;wrapped&#8217; in provocatively designed packaging and accompanied by slick product information.
